OSU Extension Office

A cooperative agreement between federal, state and county provide funding for the OSU Cooperative Extension Service office in Major County.  These entities are the United States Department of Agriculture, the State of Oklahoma through Oklahoma State University, and Major County (through the county sales tax).   Earliest historical records reveal that Cooperative Extension in Major County has been in place since the 1920’s.  Professional staff members titles have changed through the years and are now titled Extension Educators.  Jim Rhodes serves as Extension Educator- Agriculture/4-H Youth Development and has been in this role since December 2006.  Dana Baldwin serves as Extension Educator- Family & Consumer Sciences/4-H Youth Development and has been in this role since October 1995, and has also been County Extension Director since April 1998.  Pat Zahnow joined the staff as secretary in 2010.

The mission of the OSU Cooperative Extension Service is to provide research based educational information to the citizens of Major County in the areas of Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development and Rural & Community Development.  The Major County OSU Cooperative Extension Service is located in the county courthouse.  Office hours are 8:30 -5:00 Monday-Friday.  Visit our website at: oces.okstate.edu/major or  call 227-3786.  We are available for programs, have a lot of written information available, welcome your questions, and always enjoy
